Project Title

Relations Between Social Capital and Mental Health Inequalities in Pakistan

Description

It is widely known that there is a dearth of mental health care professionals in Pakistan, as well as a lack of mental health literacy and underutilization of mental health services. I conducted a thorough literature review to gather data on Pakistan's present mental health situation. This research is crucial because of the insights it gives into Pakistan's underreported suicide rates in order to truly comprehend the growing prevalence of mental health problems among individuals. This paper suggests that individuals with mental health problems do not seek medical treatment due to a lack of trust, Islamic fundamentalism, the government's inadequate policy, inadequate health education, and stigma. To conclude, mental health care remains a low priority in Pakistan's healthcare system.
